| Did you miss out on seeing Live Earth as it happened? Or maybe you saw it all, but just can't get enough? You're in luck! You can relive your favorite performances, your favorite fashion faux pas, and all the Gore-y goodness (hologram or otherwise!) on MSN's Live Earth site.I also recommend checking out the Green Production Blog. This particular entry was quite touching: Overheard At Our Local Coffee Shop ... 25 year old girl talking on her cell phone: "yea ... |

The Day the Music Lied? Live Earth reaches an estimated 2 billion, critics harp on hypocrisy |

Daily Grist |
| The Day the Music Lied? Live Earth reaches an estimated 2 billion, critics harp on hypocrisy By all accounts, Live Earth (perhaps you've heard of it?) was a smashing success. Organizers say the shows reached about 2 billion people in 130 countries. More than 150 musical acts crooned, and supporters held more than 10,000 registered "fringe events" in addition to the main concerts on every continent. A ... |

| Don't ever say we never did anything for you. On Saturday, while you were cavorting in the surf, grilling organic free-range meat on the barbecue (or is that barbecuing meat on the grill?), or kicking back with a good book in the sweet, sweet air conditioning, Grist was sweating at Live Earth New York. Er, New Jersey. Whatever. We suffered through sets by Ludacris, Melissa Etheridge, Roger Waters, and the Police to report back -- to YOU, dear Grist reader -- from the fr ... |

Live Earth: Mercy, mercy me The song still has relevance today |

| I'm watching the Live Earth coverage on NBC, and I've got to say, I'm impressed. It's really well done -- concert highlights intermixed with artist and celeb interviews, and plenty of easy tips on how to take action at home. For those on the East Coast, it's too late -- but West Coasters, tune in!I was struck by two performances -- both of Marvin Gaye's 1971 hit "Mercy, Mercy Me" (one by Alicia Keys in New York and one by John Legend and Corinne Bailey Ra ... |

| Remember how Gore wanted to have the U.S. Live Earth concert in Washington, D.C., on the National Mall? And then Inhofe was all "it's partisan, you can't do it, neiner, neiner." And then Gore was all "fine, we'll have it at Giants Stadium in New Jersey." And then Inhofe was all "fine!" And then they both slammed their doors. Yeah, good times. Well, now, Gore's all "Ha, ha, sucka, we worked around your whole 'partisan' bullshit, ... |

Live Earth: How green are the concerts for a climate in crisis? Depends how you define green |
Sarah van Schagen |
02 Jul 2007 |
Gristmill |
| On 7/7/07, climate change awareness will officially rock, as a series of concerts kick off at venues as far afield as Shanghai, Sydney, and the South Pole. Chatter about the Live Earth concerts has been rampant for months as bits of gossip trickled in here and there. Though organizers still promise a few surprises, much of the mystery is gone at this point. But when it all goes down this weekend, one question is still weighing on a few minds: How green will thes ... |

| Comedian Dave Attell wants your number. No, really! The star of Comedy Central's Insomniac was at Bonnaroo this year working the air-conditioned comic tent. At a press conference Sunday afternoon, Attell said he's really here for the hippie girls, and that he likes a vegan girl who can keep him up all night talking about recycling. That I can deal with ...The problem is that it's also in my eyes, my nose, my lungs. I came here perfectly healthy, and I'll be going home with itchy eyes, a stuffed up nose, a dry throat, congested lungs, and a not-so-sexy cough. | I just left the first press conference of Bonnaroo where hiphop-funk-reggae guru Michael Franti of Spearhead set the stage by explaining his routine when coming to Bonnaroo: "The first thing I always do is go over to the port-a-potty, because you can tell what stage the festival is in ..." The man speaks the truth. Asked about using the stage as a soapbox, Franti went on to speak about the community at Bonnaroo: "When you come to a festival, you'r ... |

| The masses started arriving yesterday. Gates opened at noon, and 'Roo-goers were ready. At left is the 'before' shot -- the open grassy field (once home to cows and cow pies) that will soon be just a field of dirt covered in dirt-covered people and dirt-covered trash.
