| If you watch to the end of this, you'll find a spirited defense of Hillary Clinton. I was recently scolded for only posting Obama videos, but the thing is, all the interesting/funny videos this campaign have been from Obama supporters. I'm glad Tina Fey (who I worship) helped me balance the scales. Now, somebody send me a decent McCain video and I'll post it! Here's Fey: |

The Brave One Clinton talks up clean energy at Houston energy summit |

29 Feb 2008 |
News |
| Posted at 1:36 PM on 29 Feb 2008 The Greater Houston Partnership held an energy forum Thursday to which all of the presidential candidates were invited and only one showed up: Hillary Clinton. Surrounded by folks from the energy industry, days before the crucial Texas primary, Clinton elected not to tell Big Oil what it wanted to hear. "I do not believe that now is the time when subsidies for the oil companies are necessa ... |

An Eye for a Buckeye Dems touch on green issues at debate in crucial primary state of Ohio |
|
27 Feb 2008 |
News |
| Posted at 5:32 AM on 27 Feb 2008 Environmental issues popped up during a discussion of trade policy in last night's debate between Democratic presidential contenders Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Clinton said she would "renegotiate the core labor and environmental standards" of NAFTA. Obama agreed, saying, "I intend to make certain that every [trade] agreement that we sign has the labor ... |

I want to see people throughout Ohio being trained to do the work that will put solar panels on roofs, install wind turbines, do geothermal, take advantage of biofuels, and I know that if we had put $5 billion into the stimulus package to really invest in the training and the tax incentives that would have created those jobs as the Democrats w ... |

This sounds familiar Clinton only candidate to appear at energy forum on Thurs. |

| The Greater Houston Partnership had planned a bigtime energy forum where all the presidential candidates would come and discuss America's energy future. Only Clinton agreed to come. Despite that, it should be interesting. There will be lots of players from Big Oil & Gas there, and they want to hear about what they euphemistically call 'short-term solutions,' i.e., um, oil and gas. Will Clinton elect to piss them off, or piss her green supporters off? ... |

Last night's debate

Gristmill |
| Yeah, so, there was a Democratic debate last night. Far as I can tell, there wasn't much said about energy or the environment (except in the clean coal ads brought to viewers by debate sponsor ABEC). Both candidates briefly mentioned creating a green economy, but it wasn't the subject of any back and forth or detailed questioning. (Though see Glenn below.) I will say, Clinton's closing remarks were some of the most graceful of the campaign. She says she'll fight on ev ... |

Obama and Clinton discuss border wall in last night's debate Will the next president stop construction on the border wall? |
Glenn Hurowitz |
22 Feb 2008 |

| Last night's debate included some good news for the embattled wildlife and landscape of the Southwest. In response to a question about whether or not they would slow construction of the border wall under construction in the Southwest, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton criticized the wall as ineffective and counterproductive. Obama went so far as to say he would 'reverse that policy' of building a wall, while Clinton criticized the wall as 'absurd' and s ... |

It first appeared in the Capitol Times (Madison, Wisc.). ----- The candidates have come and gone through Wisconsin for the primary season, but I still have some questions for the Democratic candidates, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama. I would like to be enthusiastic about this election, I really would. After the past ... |

| Posted at 10:46 PM on 05 Feb 2008 Coming out of Super Tuesday's primaries and caucuses in 22 states, the Republicans are looking ever more likely to nominate their most eco-conscious candidate, John McCain, who was the big GOP winner of the day. But green issues don't seem to have played much if any role in the Republican voting, and McCain didn't reference anything environmental in his speech to supporters at the end of the night. ... |

| I looked through the transcript, and as far as I can tell there wasn't a single question about climate change in tonight's Democratic debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. This is the fourth CNN debate sponsored by coal front group Americans for Balanced Energy Choices (ABEC). Not one of the four has contained a question on climate. |

Change we can believe in? What does the 2005 energy bill vote say about Obama? |
David Roberts |
24 Jan 2008 |
Gristmill |
| It's conventional wisdom that Clinton and Obama are fairly close on policy, so the choice between them will come down to "character" and theories of change. While I think that's broadly accurate, there are some differences in their voting records, and recently Elana Schorr took a close look at them to find where the candidates had made different decisions. One of the few matters of real consequence (other than the war) was the 2005 energy bill, ... |
