Posted at 11:23 AM on 26 Feb 2008 Former presidential contender Chris Dodd has broken with the wait-and-see Democrats to endorse Barack Obama for president. Obama has been "poked and prodded, analyzed and criticized, called too green, too trusting, and for all of that has already won" a majority of states and votes, said Dodd. See what he did there, using the word "green" as a subtle nod to Obama's eco-cred? Clever. source: ...

Posted at 10:02 AM on 04 Jan 2008 After getting trounced in the Iowa caucuses yesterday, Democratic Sens. Chris Dodd (Conn.) and Joe Biden (Del.) dropped out of the presidential race. Dodd was the only candidate who supported a corporate carbon tax as a means to fight climate change; both Dodd and Biden supported a cap-and-trade system to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions 80 percent below 1 ...

Chris Dodd says the right things. To my mind, he's every bit as good on climate change as John Edwards and Bill Richardson, if not better. Putting aside political feasibility and the electability of any of these candidates, what's the best way to look at their policy proposals? I think there are two important things to note. The first and most obvious is a policy's particular goals. On that score, Richardson wins. He calls for a 90 percent reduction of greenhous ...

Presidential contender supports carbon tax If you can really call Chris Dodd a 'contender' |

Finally, a candidate for president has come out in support of a carbon tax! OK, it was Chris Dodd, but still. Dodd's big energy speech this morning was mostly the usual stuff about tax credits and subsidies, but here's the section that produced the headline: The truth is, we can make all the clean energy investments in the world, but we will never be able to rid ourselves of fossil fuel energy sources when they remain the cheapest option. It's true that so ...
