| All Is Not Well in La-La Land Top Schwarzenegger air-quality officials depart under protest If Arnold Schwarzenegger were a cobbler, his children would have no shoes. Or something like that. While the Governator has been busy spreading the climate gospel around the world, his air-quality agency is coming apart at the seams. Last week, Schwarzenegger fired Rob ... |

| Terminating His Term With one day left in office, Blair chats climate with Schwarzenegger If you'd asked Tony Blair a decade ago which foreign official would be the last he met with while in office, chances are he wouldn't have put his pounds on Arnold Schwarzenegger. But that's exactly who filled the slot today. Blair, who steps down tomorrow, met with the Governator at 10 Downing Street to chat about -- wa ... |

| Ahhhnold is calling out the U.S. government for being a bunch of girly men and women on climate change. On Monday, he teamed up with Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell, a fellow Republican, to chastise the folks on the Hill for 'inaction and denial' on climate change in an open letter published in the Washington Post. Not only have they failed to take major federal action, they've also tried to thwart actions by progressive states like California and Connecticut, the ... |

| I'll Be Back, Eh Schwarzenegger visits Canada to talk tough on emissions It's hard to believe any country could be worse on climate than the U.S., but Canada seems to be making a run for it. The 'Terminator' eyes Cali farmland Schwarzenegger to California farmers: Considuh this a divorce |

Gristmill |
| There's a fair amount of debate on Gristmill about how much green cred to give the Governator -- that A-list action hero of enlightened Republicanism. I don't follow California politics closely enough to venture an opinion. But I do know that promoting a policy that will result in yet more suburban sprawl and evict small- and mid-sized farmers from their land -- all in an effort to save chump change from the state budget -- hardly does Schwarzenegger credit. Over on ... |

| California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) and Connecticut Gov. Jodi Rell (R) take to the pages of the Washington Post to send President Bush a simple message: 'It's high time the federal government becomes our partner or gets out of the way.' At issue is the waiver Calif. and 11 other states need from the EPA to implement their new tailpipe-emissions standards. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court made it clear that California is perfectly within its rights to imple ... |

| Arnold Schwarzenegger is being offered up as an eco-hero, so naturally some folks in the green movement rush to point out that it's all a big fraud. Why they do that -- why progressives eat their allies -- I'll never understand. Let's approach this through a semi-related phenomenon. I had the privilege of meeting Andrew Dessler in person the other day (how'd your talk go, Andrew?), and we discussed, among other things, how several climate change skeptics start ... |

| Terry Tamminen is a compact, affable man. With his bluntness and lack of pretense, it's easy to see why Arnold Schwarzenegger trusted him.
