Give my regards to Broadway The Great White Way goes green |

| Photo: Springsun via Flickr Mamma Mia! Broadway is going green. Inspired by An Inconvenient Truth, producer David Stone (who recently greened his hit musical Wicked) met with other Broadway big-wigs and the folks at NRDC in an effort to get the theater industry singing a more sustainable tune. There may be five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes in a year, but how much of a difference could this greening make? Well, they say the neon ligh ... |

James and the giant lie Oklahoma senator makes stuff up, wastes time in climate change debate |

| James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the Senate's leading climate change denier, had plenty of kooky and alarmist things to say in yesterday's debate over climate change legislation. Think Progress has video of one of his wing-nuttiest contributions to the discussion, in which he lies about Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth, and the IPCC: Yep, the same IPCC that shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Gore. |

| Think the idea of An Inconvenient Opera is a bit off-key? You might be singing a different tune after reading this: Apparently, An Inconvenient Musical opened to sold-out crowds in Toronto last summer. Says Kurt Firla, co-director/writer of the production:It's a satirical look at the climate crisis, corporate greed, and the general public's reluctance to do anything about the problem. It features some of Toronto's top improvisers/comedians, and we're giving $1 from ... |

Pearce on Gore

| Socially progressive publishing house Beacon has a new blog, Beacon Broadside, where its authors post. One of the first posts is from Fred Pearce, author of, among other books, With Speed and Violence: Why Scientists Fear Tipping Points in Climate Change. It's called "Al and Me,' and defends Gore against the charge that he exaggerated the dangers of climate change in his movie. Quite the contrary, says Pearce. |

| As I said in my earlier post on the subject, there's less than meets the eye to the story of the British judge that found nine "errors" in An Inconvenient Truth. Turns out they weren't errors, just points the judge deemed different enough from the IPCC view to warrant explanatory materials -- and the judge was off about most of them anyway. That hasn't stopped the media from making a total hash of it. Read Tim Lambert's two posts on the Washington Post's war o ... |

| There are three things you're unlikely to learn from the mainstream media about the Case of the Nine Errors, wherein a British judge is said to have taken issue with the accuracy of An Inconvenient Truth. The parent who filed the suit, Stewart Dimmock, is a member of a far-right political group with ties to a leading U.K. skeptic group, the one behind The Great Global Warming Swindle. The judge rejected the lawsuit and called the movie "broadly accurate."The ... |

| This just in from Fox News: A High Court judge in London has turned film critic, highlighting 'nine scientific errors' in Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. The judge said some of the errors had arisen in 'the context of alarmism and exaggeration' to support the former US vice-president's thesis on global warming. The Government's decision to show the film in secondary schools had come under attack from father-of-two Stewart Dimmock, a Kent school gov ... |
