Toys

Ah yes the free market at work protecting our kids again. If the market won't even prevent Mattel from importing poisonous toys then it sounds like it's time for some old fashioned government regulation

Having a new baby is a real eye opener. The products made in China are poorly packaged in non recyclable packaging, low quality, and apparently full of poison.

We have had trouble finding safer toys for the baby - there are some non-China made items of higher quality, e.g. Sophie the Giraffe, a famous french toy, and some nice wood toys/craft type toys available at places like "Cheeky Monkey" in Toronto.
