If nuclear energy is more cost effective than oil, coal or other alternatives it doesn't need a subsidy.  The facts are really quite clear and that's why a nuclear reactor hasn't been ordered for 30 years.  As any fool knows however, to paraphrase, subsidize it and they will come.
