Yes!

Maybe it's simply a matter of the facts overwhelming the deniers, but even in hard right regions such as Alaska, climate change issues now are looked at frankly. As recently as 2003, the Alaskan papers I saw didn't--or couldn't--mention climate change even in the midst of an almost unprecedented winter warming. Now they talk to scientists and put the latest studies on the front page at times. I don't know if they're looking at the ethics of it, though.

Unfair as usual...

Yes, the press is covering climate change...and yes, their coverage is one sided as usual.

For example, how come Al Gore wasn't taken to task for his suppression of information on President Bush's fuel cell and hydrogen economy initiatives? How come Bush's visit to promote flex-fuel ( alcohol is a gas) and hybrids is not being reported in Grist .org?

Also, when it comes to climate change, most if not all of the press takes the "anti" side. I am one of the few thinkers in the world who believes that climate temperature increases are creating a great boom worldwide. Look at England...look at Russia. They have finally escaped the inevitability of desparate long frigid winters -- and they are booming!

This, at least, is true.

Lord, release me

...from the long, frigid English winter! There's only so much...drizzle... a man can take! Once we've conquered God's abomination--winter--the economy will be booming! Just like all those lucky countries in sub-saharan Africa! Screw off-shore windfarms, let's build desalination plants! That'll get the economy going.

And another thing... why doesn't Grist cover Bush's stance on climate change? Compile a list of his statements and see just what that little monkey's been up to?

Maybe you're trying to save him some embarassment? After all, his great interest in fuel cells and flex-fuel cars clearly threatens the winterless economic boom we have coming.
