Will he buy a smart grid pioneering utility soon? Look for aquisitions on his part.

Great article Ted, the kind we always see here. Overlooked news that shakes the earth.

Coal Is A Dinosaur

If Warren Buffet decides something, it's about money, not the "environment".

He must have gotten wind that nuclear power cells, hooked up to fission piles, will be able to undercut almost any other energy source.

A great service ...

Warren Buffet would do a great service to humanity and the planet's ecosystems by renouncing profit and wealth accumulation!

With the exception of viruses, there isn't a single system, mechanism or organization throughout the universe that grows big, instead of evolving, and by doing so destroys its framework.

Long Live the Grass Roots!
Great article! Loved Yunnas dressing down Bill Gates!

Also of interest, Lester Brown of chronicles a very bad year for coal here:THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR COAL
A Long Year in the Life of the U.S. Coal Industry

With concerns about climate change mounting, the era of coal-fired electricity generation in the United States may be coming to a close. In early 2007, a U.S. Department of Energy report listed 151 coal-fired power plants in the planning stages in the United States. But during 2007, 59 proposed plants were either refused licenses by state governments or quietly abandoned. In addition, close to 50 coal plants are being contested in the courts, and the remaining plants will likely be challenged when they reach the permitting stage.

The work is not done, but congratulations are due to all who have worked hard on this!
