> "Toxic Sweatshops."

I saw an interview with a prison warden, he stated many "hard core" prisoners were full of toxic chemicals (toxic metals and other poisons).... so it really is not their fault if they kill and main in a most animalistic/sadistic manner. These people are not de-toxified while they while their life away, instead they are made more toxic and released into the innocent populous.

Now it seems, that even redeemable criminals are receiving their dose of major intoxicants from activities in prison for which the inmates have no knowledge or qualification.

The prisoners all get released back into the mad mad world, with no hope of true assimilation and no hope of self control. Meanwhile our social environment becomes much more hellish.

Great job, just love having people in the world. Ain't it great to have such a variety.

Meanwhile as the mental state of the world deteriorates, the cells we are all locked into for our own safety become smaller and smaller, and we become more and more distrustful and alienated from each other.

I just love religious bullshit and its consequences. Y'all make this world, miserable.

sigh

The Dell - UNICOR Connection
An important earlier chapter in UNICOR's recycling of e-waste involves Dell Inc., which until July 2003 used UNICOR to process its reclaimed computers. Activists from the Texas Campaign for the Environment and the Computer TakeBack Campaign organized a "high-tech chain gang" at the 2003 Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show to raise this issue. Ultimately, Dell changed its policy and ceased using UNICOR to process its recycled computers. To my mind is the statement that there hasn't been much public reaction. We should add the information that the US has by far the highest rate of incarceration in the world.

Environmentalists aren't the only ones . . .
. . . miffed at UNICOR. Its slaves inmates do their dirty work for well under minimum wage, and that's got market fundamentalists a bit hot under the collar. After all, how can good ol' American industry compete with a captive workforce that might as well be toiling for free? Hmm, is that a potential coalition I smell, or just the sweet stench of PVC?
