Asinine Association:

It makes good political sense for Obama to distance himself from Blagojevich and he needs to keep Al Gore at arms length also. We all like Gore for his environmental stance but politics can be fickle and complicated. Obama was right when he made the religion and guns comment to a large extent. When you look at the middle of the Democratic party and of course the Republican party the 2nd amendment will make you or break you. Al Gore got into trouble with this and it helped him lose a presidential bid. It cost Bill when the he lost the Senate and the House to the Republicans when the conservative tide was sweeping the country. He needs to placate the middle and right wing if he is to work with all factions as he promised during his campaign. Work and push for the environmental change we need and stay out of second amendment fights right now. The destruction of the planet by global warming and pollution will kill more of us than guns in the long run. Hit the gun crime use hard and law & order hard but the 2nd amendment is the third rail right now in national politics. Stand with Gore on Global warming but put the gun thing on the back burner right now, it's not worth putting his environmental agenda in jeopardy over.
