It was interesting how different that was from an ad for American audiences.  It was long, slowly paced, and took a long time to get to the point.  Very different.  I wonder if European television is like that generally.

GreenEngineer: Yes, European television (and French ads in particular) are intended to be "intellectual", and to get people talking about them. "In your face" does not appeal to Continental audiences. Some ads are so obscure, however, you end up wondering what was being advertised.

Plum: Clearly you are too young to remember the former Soviet leader, Leonid Brezhnev!
