financing solar installations
Hello, I'm new here ... this is my first comment. It's nice to be here, my name is Christy O'Connor.

I can't help but wonder why many of the mortgage lending networks on the web are not approaching individuals interested in solar energy with useful guides and loan offers for energy alternatives. (I own and opperate a Real Estate and Financial web site) Alternative energy seems to be on many minds these days; it's so expensive and Lenders like Quicken, Countrywide, and Capital One are aggressivly dreaming up ad campaigns to stay current. BP has been delivering their message like this with their campaigns .. smart strategy I think.

Maybe it's the way I think, environmentally sound commission? Connecting people with the lowest possible rate on an equity loan for alternative energy sounds green to the second power! Feels like a win-win to me. I'd love to use my resources to propose this idea.

I don't know, maybe I'm thinking too far out of the box? What do you guys think? If the gentleman that was looking for economical solutions for financing would like a refrral to a licensed banker from his area I can refer him to an expert that will search over 200 well known and reputable lenders for the best home loan rates. We run a very consumer friendly service. The referral site is http://www.real-estate-yogi.com

Net Metering

Would it be possible to set-up a modest solar array or wind turbine, or both at a vacation home or just an empty parcel. Provided you do this somewhere they pay you for net excess, how much would you be able to make off of these installations?

Subsidies Bad

This is a case where I think early adopters, spurred by subsidies, will be in a worse position than those who wait for the market to produce a competitive product out the door.

The Boeing-Spectrolab breakthrough of 40% efficiency versus current 20% efficiency, for example, would tell people to wait rather than rush headlong into solar purchases at this moment.

Challenged

Dear Umbra!,

I'm diagnosed as "bipolar" and live on a disability income. I would say I have a "holotropic mind" which is enough to say I'm encumbered with conceptual challenges in relation to 21 months of constant communication (24/7, I'm not sure what is happening when I sleep but the beings are always there when I wake up)) with non-physical beings.

After a lot of scrutiny that I've experienced as a physically, mentally and emotionally grueling processing of my "consciousness" I'm wondering if you will share with me some advise as to why a person like me is having difficulty getting people to help me share the world together? Apparently the question itself is a bit of a conundrum. Isn't that a question individuals throughout history have been trying to answer?

Sincerely,

Chris Taudvin

PS: I have a plan.

Santa Monica's a city, not a county
Unless I'm really missing something, Santa Monica's a city I live in. It's part of LA county, NOT a county of its own -- though yes, the city does offer lotsa eco incentives, including that for solar :) We even have an entire city-sponsored initiative called Solar Santa Monica.
