Interesting blog!

It will be great to see these communities revived again by a wind powered energy revolution.

Local and state governments ought to insist on manufacturing and maintenance facilities, using the locally produced wind power of course, in their areas, in return for the use of the green, clean, inexhaustible wind resources in their regions.

The democratic governor of Montana will surely champion those efforts!

On sustainable ag and the ouster of one of it's defenders: The appointment of corporate friendlies to positions at all levels of public institutions, acompanied by corporate "donations" is epidemic.

The short term, bottom-line, end justifies the means world view is rapidly bringing on the armaggedon that the faith filled true believers in the cabal of government/corporate power characterized by the Bush administration, truly believe in.

A self fullfilling prophecy of the death of the living planet earth. Just like the dead soil in a chemical corn field or the animals in a hog lot, slaughtered to feed the cancerous tumors in consumers.

Great Post!!!

Thanks for bringing this up, Tom!! This is critical information.

The pro-corporate right has been successfully defining the terms of debate by placing it's own people in key positions.

Imagine American agriculture if state Farm Bureaus included environmentalists and sustainable agriculture advocates (along with a bunch of supporters of organics!!).

Many of the key trends in agriculture don't come from the popular press or urban areas, but from Ag departments in colleges and universities.

This is an important battleground that must not be neglected!!!

 Thanks again,
