sequestration?

My reading of your bullet, is that the plant is capable of a retrofit, i.e. it is designed and built in such a way that it is physically possible at a later date to add carbon capture technology. This is a step forward, but (unless there is something I don't know) not a commitment.

It seems a reasonable compromise, as you say, although it is still an increase in carbon emissions.

Sometimes we're sorry this isn't Wonkette too

If it was I could say "I'd hit it." Smart women of a certain age do it for me.

Forget sequestration

But put a low soot standard on coal, existing coal. Install electrostatic soot filters.

Invest in the lowest cost source that you already cite, wind power. Give a 10 cent per kwh subsidy direct to farmers to become wind farmers.

No new coal, instead roll out smart grid technology to fit the system to renewables and conservation.

Yes JMG, not to put it as crudely as you have. She would make a great VP this time around. Very appealing indeed!
