What did you expect her to say?

Her subtext: Progressive memes. Kumbaya. Obama for president.

Sounds like she's pushing the right buttons (at least from your description). Prepping us on the memes of change, and coordinating the message with the candidate most likely to succeed.

More power to her.

Yes,

it could well have been an Obama campaign commercial. Not surprising, I guess, since she's endorsed him.

All Right

Yes, it's just rhetoric. Welcome to politics.

Nonetheless, if we as voters and constituents not only pressure our elected officials to act AND provide our own tangible results of action, the vision of a just and sustainable future will be too irresistible for either party to ignore.

Ho hum

I'm starting to realize that real renewable energy policy is about as likely as decriminalization of pot.

More fuel farming, clean coal, coal to liquid fuel, nuclear power. 5% of power from wind and solar by 2050. That's the reality with these candidates.

And the problem is....

... Nothing. Maybe I'm just naive, or not that cynical, but I really enjoyed her speech for what it was and found it uplifting and inspiring after an extremely boring hour with Bush.

Maybe I should vote for Obama... ha

... and/or believe that she was directing her talk to all Americans.

"You and I - stand ready - ready to protect our environment for future generations, and stay economically competitive. Mayors have committed their cities to going green; governors have joined together, leading efforts for energy security and independence; and the majority in Congress is ready to tackle the challenge of reducing global warming and creating a new energy future for America.

So we ask you, Mr. President, will you join us? It's time to get to work."

OK I'll stop blogging and get to work...
