Benefit of the doubt

Thanks to Umbra for yet another great response.

In ethics, "benefit of the doubt" refers to a particular consideration, which is appropriate to global warming, and measures taken to prevent it (ha ha, I chuckle sardonically, in my coastal home, checking the sea level every so often): perhaps we are not persuaded we are actually doing unjust harm, but there is the possibility that we are indeed doing unjust harm; therefore we ought to stop doing what we are doing.

Global Warming excellent resource
Thanks Umbra. I would like you and your readers to know that the American Institute of Architects voted and made a committement in June 2005 to reduce green house emisions from the buildings we design by 50% by 2020. To view an excellent website with plenty of easy to read and view documentation go to http://www.architecture2020.com
We, the architects of this country have the opporunity and obligation to help create change in the way our buildings are are built, preserved, and renovated, to reduce the impact on the environment to zero.
Sincerely,

Peak Oil and Climate Change
Last week at the CERES conference in CA, Al Gore mentioned that Peak Oil and Climate Change would be the investment drivers in our country for next decade and beyond.

We have organized a conference in Washington DC to discuss the links between Peak Oil and the Environment-both issues will require large scale macro policy changes as well as shifting consumption patterns.
Information on the conference is at http://www.beyondpeak.org/Agenda.html
