I hope you win
Gambling isn't my game. Paul Ehrlich lost a big bet and it provided a lot of ammunition to neocons. He will probably be proven right in the end. His timing was just off.

In the end, it all comes down to biodiversity. Poison Darts--Protecting the biodiversity of our world

Anomaly map
That anomaly map is quite terrifying.

By the end of next summer, it seems likely that we will have a much better idea of who will win this bet. Lots of people have been saying that the exceptional melt produced a strengthening positive feedback. If so, we would expect things to continue to worsen at an increasing rate - barring the kind of shocks addressed through your volcano caveat.

I hope you lose...

...but I don't think you will. The non-linearity of the system is exceptional.

And we're daily making it worse.

No ice all winter?

Hmm, are you sure you mean no sea ice anywhere within the Arctic Circle, all year round? If somebody finds a six-foot patch of sea ice anywhere in the Arctic, such as in early March, would you graciously pay up? Now that the Arctic is in the cold season with no sunlight, it seems that sea ice is growing at an ALARMING rate. Just kidding, bruddah, I thing you mean large continuous areas you can measure from space during sunlight conditions, right?

Onward through the fog
