Is there hope yet for Venus?

Wasn't Carl Sagan really into the possibility of terraforming Venus? The first phase of the plan had something to do with seeding the upper atmosphere with bacteria, on a mission of a particular sort; but I do not remember what the mission was.

Any ethical problems with that? Maybe, but not often raised. We are pretty far from developing a "Genesis Project."

On nuts: Next time I am at a Q&A with Jimmy Carter, I shall be sure to ask him what his people in Georgia dowse the peanuts with.

In a nut shell - cashews

I actually ate the 'apple' you refer to. I visited a wild mango/cashew 'farm' in Trinidad and ate the fruit of the cashew plant...which has a funny, sticky/tangy taste/texture. Anyways, the cashew nut actually sits on top of the fruit, not inside like a usual seed. And it is encased it a toxic coating or shell. There's no need to use pesticides on a cashew for this reason. It has it's own very suitable protection and the mangos were not sprayed either.
