Sheer genius

Call for offshore drilling in the place that made offshore drilling catastrophes famous, Santa Barbara. He really knows how to pick'em.

But (ouch, this is hard to say) he's right about one thing, the Federal government has a boatload of buildings and vehicles, -- and this he didn't say -- they could all be made zero emissions, which would be a great demonstration of it's feasability.

Fed vehicles...

Yes, I've noticed that a lot of these federal vehicles are SUVs. Generally with just one person in them at one time. Now why would he want to make them "flex-fuel"? Does that cost more? Help out GM?

Shu pas a vende.

Offshore Drilling In California

I bet Schwarzenegger's not at all happy with McCain's mention of offshore drilling in California. No one could get elected governor here if (s)he supported offshore drilling, despite the hypocrisy of that position (L.A., California's biggest city, was built around the automobile, and Californians in general worship their cars, as I noticed when I moved to the Bay Area from Chicago). Schwarzenegger would probably be recalled and removed from office if he came out publicly in support of offshore drilling.
