How Come Everyone Is So Good Looking Now?
Here's what peeves me.

Supposedly the world has been getting more and polluted and congested and just all slimy and carbon-ey.

I went to high school in the 70s. Back then, there were only a couple of really good looking people. Maybe one or two per class. Everyone else was misshapen and had terrible acne.

But now everyone has clear skin, is taller and looks like they could be on tv. In fact, more people than ever go on tv and you know what -- they look pretty good doing it -- as I noticed by watching the American Idol retrospective while working out on a stair climber at 24 Hour Fitness in Kent. Whereas before, even among the stars most were really not that good looking, just a few even among the elites. Ernest Borgnine? Arthur Kennedy? Shelley Winters? Could those people even get on YouTube these days?

Now with people gaining so much weight -- they still look good -- maybe even healthier. That's why I have to laugh at work like "That 70s Show" because no one that I knew in 1975 looked like those people....in fact, in that decade you couldn't find anyone, anywhere that looked like them.

So, with all this pollution, shouldn't people be really hideous by now, with like green stuff oozing from their face and skin peeling off and all be 3 feet 8 inches tall?

I guess its because of all the benefits of global warming happening since the 80s, and me having been part of the generation that caught the brunt of the mid-century cooling.

Those lucky Globally Warmed Kids of Today!!!

I was going to comment

about John's never ending stream of denier and anti-environmental drivel. But then I remembered what David Roberts advised about people like John some time ago: Don't feed the trolls.

So, I won't.

But Scrape The Barnacles
Don't feed the trolls

Yes, but scrape the barnacles off the hull as well...

defn: A Barnacle is a person who haunts Usenet Newsgroups, Bulletin Boards and Fora. They offer a narrow interpretation of the purpose of the board, sometimes bordering on the absurd, or do to their own misinterpretation of the original charter. They make their living by calling almost anyone who disagrees with, or offers dissenting opinions a "troll" (which is grammatically incorrect because troll is a verb, not a noun...as in, to troll for shrimp).
