The analysis calling President Bush "lame duck" in this case is in error.

Any bill that the Senate cannot pass by at least 60 yea votes is not veto-proof, thus the President can effective shut it down.

L-W, if it passes at all, will not get 60 solid yeas, in most any scenario.

While there's no limit to my hatred for the current administration, this press release accurately reflects the feelings of the average person in this country.  Ask people whether they're willing to significantly reduce consumption of vehicle fuel by living close to work, shopping, and school, and significantly reduce electricity use by getting rid of needless electric toys, keeping lights off in all unoccupied rooms, and greatly reducing or eliminating things like streetlights and lighted advertisements like Las Vegas, and most will say "Hell no!"

if he wants to bury tying NAFTA to global climate legislation, or trying to slip in nuclear while stating we must ensure security.  He might also consider a class in environmental climate science as it doesn't appear he has made the connection between global flora and air quality as most of us learned in uhhh...5th grade science class.

With U.S. economy already in recession for completely different causes than nonexistent climate holocaust mitigation, and the U.S. dollar slowly evaporating... it is now time to sound the death knell for the baneful fossil carbon behemoth, U.S.A.
