the E word

I just love it when my stereotypes are smashed! Allen Johnson is terrific. Well done, David. I especially appreciate your "dominion" question.

Not for the first time in Gristmill is it pointed out that the title or epithet "environmentalist" has extremely negative connotations for a lot of Americans. That was news to me, the first time it came up. And it remains most puzzling, and perplexing.

"Creation care"? Oh, sure. But I cannot imagine Sierra Club or WWF or Audubon or Greenpeace easily embracing the term, and deleting all references to "environmentalism."

Terms

Great interview. Good for learning anyway. Hmmm, people really think environmentalists are demons?? Some of my friends feel the same way about Christians.

Okay we can be "Creation Carers" instead of "Environmentalists" if they will be "Monotheistic Religionists" instead of "Christians".

 ROFLMAO....

patrick

PS, if environmentalists DID adopt a new term, we would only be accused of trying to hide who we are.

rolling on the floor ...

("But you just better pay no mind no more to my ass, you with that big warm hand of yours.")

(Sorry, that was just a bit of what we pious, Bible-reading types call "speaking in tongues." You can't stop the Spirit when She hits you.)

OK:

Amen, Brother Patrick! Secure your womenfolk and your children, your dogs and horses too, when you see them Christians slinking up from the irrigation ditch, with that God-awful evangelical look in their eyes!
