Arrgghhh

As a follower of Jesus myself, I find this story somewhat depressing. Let me be the first to apologize on behalf of Christians everywhere who do not regard stewardship of the environment as something worthy to pursue. We as a group have neglected this issue for too long.

Let me encourage you, though while Evangelical Leaders in NAE are backing down from their statements about creation care, others are stepping up. Using myself as an example, to care for God's creation I've moved closer to work (35 miles to 4 miles to reduce gasoline usage and carbon emissions) and now ride my bike or take the bus. My family has a subscription farm membership where we get organic locally grown food. We have a terrapass for our car which balances out the driving we do and reduces our contribution to global warming. And even in our house-hunting, we are looking for a house that can be modified for active and passive solar use. We recycle too. This is an active part of my faith. I do it out of love for God and love for people. There are others who do the same an more as an extension of their faith in Jesus. I also beg you not to confuse anger you may have for Christians for anger against Christ himself.
