Rove on M*A*S*H

The Rove quote made me think of Major Houlihan:
"He's ruining this war for all of us!"

As for the way the GOP really wants things to be?
Perhaps Frank Burns: "Never have so many suffered so much so so few could be so happy."

FEMA: Prepared...Ready...

Preparations are being done excellently:

In the event that Gustav becomes a hurricane, FEMA has 478 emergency generators, 141 truckloads of tarp and 267 truckloads of blankets and cots that are already stationed in Gulf Coast states, according to a statement. The agency will also have more than 2.4 million liters of water and more than four million meals.

FEMA is coordinating plans with other federal agencies nationwide, such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the American Red Cross, the National Guard Bureau and at least three other federal agencies.

FEMA has conducted analysis to determine in advance where federal assistance is most likely needed. It has also prepared advanced plans for its response and recovery efforts and mapped out those plans with other state and federal agencies.

Reality STILL has a Liberal bias
Which is about the only weapon that the Democrats get to use on a national scale. To look at the news on TV drilling in Alaska will somehow have gas down to $1.50/gal. next summer.

All next week the GOP is going to work to convince us that the son of an admiral and husband of a heiress with seven houses can somehow understand our little problems. The rest of us can look forward to a winter where some of us know we can't afford to heat the house with heating oil and don't have any viable alternatives.

Meanwhile quite a few people in the south are wondering if they'll have a roof at all come the first friday in September. It must be nice to have seven, or is it eight, houses to settle the matter.

Let's hope FEMA is ready this time...

It's tragic that so many Americans had to suffer because the "adults" didn't bother getting ready in 2005.

Now they are trying to put a totally non-ready person one old, tired, heartbeat away from being Commander and Chief.

Why don't conservatives who really care for the country take their party back?

Republicans Got A Huge Break

Anyone in the administration who was responsible for the criminal lack of action before, during, and after Katrina should be in prison. So the Republicans are actually far better off than they deserve to be. Don't let these jerks frame issues, they do nothing but lie. Not that the Democrats don't also, but they're not usually as bad.
