Rachel Maddow mentioned that it's also the aniversary of the bridge collapse, presided over by the probable VP, Minn Gov Pawlenty.  Another HJB ("heckuva-job-brownie") type appointment?  

The other possible VP is Ridge, the over arching HJB over the whole of homeland security during Katrina, because FEMA was placed under homeland security.

So it's an HJB nexus, another NO hurricane, bridge collapse aniversary, and two possible duuhbya style HJBs.

"GOP, HJBs are US".  The new McBush slogan?  perfect.
