Flashback

Well, the cognoscenti knew years ago that the Bush's home was designed green and more energy efficient than any of Al Gore's three mansions, so it's no surprise that trend leading Texans are there already.

I guess you hippies are finally reading the newspapers and catching up to the later part of the 1st decade of the 21st century.

...also
paying $400 dollars a month to air condition a home for one couple is pretty obscene. One can see how lowering the price of electricity could increase its consumption. You could afford to bump the thermostat down a degree or two.

What we need is a way for people to brag about how little fossil energy they consume. Solar panels powering swamp coolers would fit that bill. Trade the big house for a smaller one with panels facing the street to make sure your neighbors will see and envy them. Wake up all you Texans. Wide lapel shirts and gold chains are not cool anymore. Solar panels are.

In the end, it all comes down to biodiversity. Poison Darts--Protecting the biodiversity of our world
