Used again...

When will we ever learn... remember when Al Gore (perhaps acting as a stalking horse for Clinton) needed us, he came calling with a bunch of flowers and that insincere look on his face? The Dems are about to use us like cheap whores again, but this time it's Hillary who's come calling. With Energy Committee Dems Landrieu and Akaka voting to drill in Alaska, and with the pathetic showing that they've made on energy policy lately, why should we trust these people at all? Because they can count on our votes, given that there's no real alternative. Will there ever come a time when we won't just get used and tossed to the side once these people get what they want?

Proportional Representation ...

is what we need to remove some power from the Democrats and Republicans. Hillary Clinton is just another pro-war Democrat. While it's hard to imagine another administration, especially a Democratic one, being as bad as the current one, a Clinton administration wouldn't be much of an improvement.

A Good Heart
Seems to me that Hilary's heart is in the right place. Anything would be better than the Shrub.

Yet, here in California, the Democrats turned their backs on us once again by killing legislation proposed by our Republican governor that would have put solar panels on a million roofs.

I have heard two explanations for why they did it. 1) The unions wanted more money 2) the dems wanted to embarass the governor.

Neither of these help me to explain to my child why I should vote FOR the democrats (instead of against the Republicans).

Is there any issue facing us today that is larger then energy? It touches just about everything... national security ... the economy ... global warming ... toxics ... air and water pollution. A million solar roofs in California would have been a progressive way to deal with all these issues.

Instead it is business as usual.

Californians still have a chance to fund solar power, this time through the Public Utilities Commission. Visit the good folks at VoteSolar.org to find out more and to support solar power.

If we, as progressives and environmentalists want the Democrats to represent us, we need to break through in the media. Kudos to Grist for covering this.

Lets all work together on getting CNN to pay attention as well.

Dems

To those bitching about Democrats, I'd sure rather have the current Dem Senate leaders chairing committees than return to James Inhofe. We have real choices. The Cems may not give us environmental perfection, but I'll take Barbara Boxer, Maria Cantwell. Henry Waxmans and George Miller over anything we've had in the last six ysars hands-down. Get real.
