Even the UN has relented on DDT as the way to fight malaria in Africa.  

And BTW, don't give any awards to Ralph Nader either.  The Corvair was one of the most innovative, and stable (mid-engine) cars ever produced.   There was one part in a sway bar that caused a few problems on a few cars, but Nader went and wrecked the whole program.
