Feel that buzz...
And I don't mean buzz-saws.
How much better off would the whole world be if Gore had seized the day in 2000....but now he is primed, ready, steady, confident, focused, grounded.
I can't imagine anyone who is better prepared to lead the US back into the 21st century, restore the egregious losses, where possible, of the passing neo-con nightmare.

Check out http://www.draftgore.com
After the big chill comes an amazing thaw.....

Carbon Freeze Now!

I'm not sure that Carbon Freeze is quite as clear as Nuclear Freeze in conveying its intentions, but it beats the pants off any other Global Warming slogan I've heard, and Gore's premise that such a freeze constitute a rallying point and springboard seems to me sound. I'd proudly place a Carbon Freeze Now! sticker on my bumper, not to mention my bicycle helmet and composting bin. Come to think of it, it would look pretty good on my neighbor's Escalade as well.

Will we only freeze

A freeze is not enough! We need to reduce.

But it is a pretty slogan.

Will people get confused and think it is enough?

 That's my fear.

why waste the momentum?

Gore might make a good president, but at this point he is more effective leading the global effort against climate change. U.S. presidential politics being what they are, there is too much of a possibility that he would have to compromise on this issue, and frankly, we don't have that kind of time. He is better outside the fray -- ask Colin Powell -- speaking and leading the effort that will, eventually prevail.

Gore should stand for the Presidential Election
It is necessary that Gore stands for the next US Presidential election, and win it too. This is necessary not just for US, but for all the other countries in the world.

Gore standing in the election will be a win-win situation for all of us. If Gore wins, we can expect effective global initiatives against global climate change. Even if he loses, we can be sure that the election campaign would have already created considerable discussion and dialogue among the stakeholders about the need amongst us to build a sustainable lifestyle.

By the way, i invite you all to check your ecological footprint (for free) at http://www.myfootprint.org

On Moonbats.

Not so long ago, I called Al Gore a Moonbat. I was reacting to criticism of the shaky science of his film. But considering my own peculiar standpoint - a long belief in human activities despoiling the Earth, not only the spectre of AGW - I had to wonder if it was not I who was the moonbat. By becoming too concerned about the myth of the 'hockeystick' was I not throwing out the baby along with the bathwater.
Were it not for my conviction that Nature is a better indicator of warming than a million climate models, I might still be of that tribe.
But I have been too long in the very camp that hails Gore's vision as something to go for that I cannot do otherwise than applaud his speech.
If the science is dubious, so what - I'm a pragmatist and will ride his wave.
Were he to eventually stand for President and win,
I am sure the world would heave a sigh of relief.
