"the meek": ha!

Republicans never had no time for that kind, no way, no how. And it's in the Bible too, why they shoun't, case you din't know.

You know, though, although I am a basically yellow-dog Democrat (and no thanks, Little White Dog has made her intentions clear that she is going to sit this one out; but she is leaving the option open of accepting an appointment by the next administration as ambassador to Italy), I think if it came down to Hillary vs. Chuck Hagel, I would really be tempted to vote for Hagel, as things are right now.

Of course, I disagree with him on all sorts of things, including important things. But I like him, personally. And I strongly dislike Hillary, personally.

But this is New York: a vote for a Republican does not count. A vote for the Democrat does not really count either, for that matter. Everybody already knows how the election will turn out.

That is why I would like to pretend that I live with my parents in PA, a swingish state, at least for voting purposes. But my husband excoriates me whenever I raise the subject, calling me a liar and a committer of malfeasance, even treason.

Isn't it so cute, the idealism of the (once upon a time) young ...

Chickens are our cousins!
So are other sensitive animals!
Enough is enough!
No more factory farms!
