The Only Problem

Generally speaking, is that the Democrats will take control by electing conservative to moderate candidates, thus moving the party further right.

Will I be wrong and will we finally get some promised right wing environmentalists?

(Internet gambling is illegal, or else....)

It's nice to see a mention here and there but the sparsity of environmental ads (compared to various sleazy ads) is disheartening.

Still, thanks David for putting them all together for us!!

environmental records

The Sierra Club's Chafee endorsement is a tough subject. I understand why it happened. Chafee has a good record and the club wants to reward environmentally good Republicans. But a Chafee win makes idiots like Inhofe committee chairs, keeps the White House unaccoountable to anyone and helps get nutcase judges appointed. At this point, environmentally responsible Republicans need to get a clue and leave what has become a criminal enterprise.

cutting taxes and protecting communities

According to a professor quoted in today's LA Times, Tester's environmental positions could be difference-making.

"If you look at ballot questions from recent years, you see big majorities voting to cut taxes and protect the environment at the same time," said Jerry Calvert, a political scientist at Montana State U. "A lot of people who have moved in state are fiscally conservative, but they are also moving in because of the environmental amenities that they see. A lot of these voters are really up for grabs."

Linkorama!

Thanks, David, for pulling all of this together. Hopefully I will get time to view it all!

I am keeping fingers & toes crossed, and sending all good karma the way of environmentally-friendly, honorable and sane candidates next Tuesday.
