Exposure

It would be good to get some exposure, maybe get DR, Romm, and Lester brown on progressive cable?

I wrote to rachel Maddow's show. Maybe if a few more of us did that we might get some ground swell behind the better technologies.

Ratings means prospective voters are watching, and that might make politicians mention it to Obama.

If our main guy in the administration is RFK jr, infamous anti-wind lobbyist, it might not go very well for the large faction opposed to nuclear, clean coal CCS, and fuel farming. If we favor wind, solar, smart grids, waste biogas, electric mass transit, plugin hybrids and ground source heating/cooling we better get our spokespersons up front in the media.

No astroturf, please.

What a remarkable moment for our country...and our planet! But remember that the biggest foe we face in environmentalism (and racism) is ignorance. I challenge us all to not remain ignorant (or ambivalent) to the influence and power of the David Axelrod's in the mix the same way the Republicans were about Karl Rove. Let's choose education as a tool to combat ignorance--not marketing. And let's not allow 'astroturf' (the marketing term) to become the latest buzz word associated with green.

Forest's plank?
I think the plank in Obama's platform that says "Forests" on it has been kept covered up. I'm sure that's because it has termites, serious rot and has caught on fire too many times. Those quoted above use words like "restore" and "stewardship", when they really mean "re-wild" and "preserve".

"Change" in the forests?!? Not bloody likely!

More government inaction to a major disaster. It could become known as "Obama's Katrina".
