Obama's Rural Plan

You make some good points about what they lack, but I think Obama has a far more developed and far better plan for Rural America, especially his plans to get young people, like myself, to re-invest in rural America. Look at his points on infrastructure, Country of Origin Labeling and Subsidies

"let farmers win"!

Jim Goodman's perspective is valuable. Whether or not he is totally fair on "policy" from Hillary and Obama, he is credible that they come across as clueless on agriculture, and are neither of them prepared to make its fundamental issues a high priority.

Goodman points to a glowingly beautiful ethical truth: What we should want is that ALL the farmers of the world win. Playing them off against one another as competitors is the ignoble game, or base entertainment, of politicans and businessmen.

Chickens are our cousins! So are fish! So are other sentient animals! Let us learn to be kind.

Farm Workers

I looked at Obama's plan. And just as the article above, it fails to mention farm workers. Of course it is better than McCain's plan, but really really has a long way to go.

 Ah well.... nothing new.
