has been a favorite of the corporate right for twenty years. Back when Judi Bari was blown up by the FBI I knew of several eco-house co-ops that were raided and tossed by the FBI. There was absolutely no proof that these people had any connection whatsoever to terrorism.

The right has always been the primary user of terrorism to achieve it's goals. From the destruction of the Maine in Cuban waters to the Reichstag fire to 9-11 they have used terrorist attacks on the left or neutrals as excuses to promote war and fascism.

There really is no way to combat this other than hoping some few judges still have a conscience and working to oust the right wing from power.

Call something that can be easily controlled terrorism, attack it, and then show off about how you're saving the world. Sounds like they've been taking lessons from the Harry Potter world...or maybe it was the other way round.

Nothing's going to be solved by violence, as violence will put a goodly proportion of the population off any cause. But, for heaven's sake, what was this? Property damage. They deserve to go to jail. But for what they did, not for some nebulous indefinable concept.

I feel the same way about all 'terrorists'. If members of Al Qaeda were prosecuted for property damage, for homicide, for anything like that, it would sure take the glamour out of what they do. And it would keep them from being called 'freedom fighters' whenever the U.S. happens to support them.

Eco-terrorism? Haven't these lawyers got anything better to do?

The last gasp of the duuhbyaist regime, the revenge for the war, the economy, popularity ratings ...everything gone wrong.

It should tell everyone in the green faction to follow Ghandi and King.  No violence of any kind ought to be tolerated, especially the public discussion prompted by someone in a crowd (probably an agent provacateur or snitch).

Anyone bringing it up, like that questioner in the crowd involved in this incident who asked how Coronado made his incendiary, should be immediately accused of being a cop trying to get the group to engage in self-incrimination.  Single them out, drum them out.  Tell them to prove they aren't a government agent.

This is serious now.  I have a friend who had a visit at 3 am by the local sherrif's department for something he wrote in a chatroom.  Only a few minutes after he wrote it, in a very rural community, far far away from NSA headquarters.

These fellers are reaching out right onto your computer to find excuses to send dangerous heavily armed officers high on their duty to homeland security right into your home.

It's no joke, get serious with those prompting talk of violence in public, the internet is public too.  Shun them, but demand they exit the group too.  A few feelings may be hurt, but a strong message will be sent to law enforcement officials.

Don't try the same old tactics to incite violence in order to discredit the environmental movement.  It won't work and your agents  will be exposed, making it obvious who really is behind the violence.

It is especially regrettable that it was two Democratic Senators, Feinstein and Biden, who co-sponsored the legislation making it a felony to spread information about WMDs.  You Bay Area people in particular should make sure Feinstein understands how the law is being used.  "The Constitution is not a suicide pact," went the slogan back then, as the Republicans won elections in 2002 and 2004, thanks to Americans' fear of terrorism.  But things are looking rather different, lately.

I agree with that one civil rights attorney, that it is hard to see how the federal prosecutors can demonstrate "intent" in what Coronado said in 2003.  But then again, they seem to have been able to prove there was "intent" in Sherman Austin's inadvertent posting of a commonplace pipe bomb recipe.  I feel very sorry for Coronado and his family.

Chickens are our cousins! So are other sensitive animals! Enough is enough! No more factory farms!
