Big v. Little Issues

Good for Sen. Carper! While Marin County hipster liberal Senator Boxer focused on experimenting on children with pesticides, Senator Carper takes on a much more important issue.

Why isn't experimenting on children, an idea so Naziesque that it's totally revolting to anyone with any sense of morality, not a big issue? Because it only affects a tiny minority of only one species, and a species that is overpopulated at that. The area Boxer should have focused on is EPA's registration of pesticides, starting with methyl bromide, a hideous poison and ozone depleter, sought to be outlawed by virtually every other country, but kept in use by the U.S.

As with registration of pesticides, air pollution is an issue that affects the entire planet. These are the really important issues. The environmental community should not be satisfied with the miniscule victory Boxer achieved, and should have instead used the opportunity to publicize the poisoning of our planet with pesticides.
