Interesting that they discussed it

but they're still getting the main issue wrong.

It's not a states' rights issue. It's an issue as to whether the California's unique exception as written into law should be honored, or the Bush admin should federal law be allowed to ignore it, regardless of what the EPA's staff and legal counsel advised.

I won't get my hopes up that Arnold's message to the GOP, that they are out of touch with the very real issue of climate change, got through.

It may have gotten through enough to last a week before the behemoth state votes in its primary though.

State's Rights my A**

Conservative Republicans only support things like State's Rights and 'Personal Responsibility' when it suits their causes. Much like Advocating for free trade out of one side of their mouth while maintaining protectionist sugar tariffs out of the other.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that while campaining in Michigan Romney won the state while arguing that increased CAFE standards are bad for America, but while in California supports the Govenator's waiver request.

When in California....

When he wants to win California, he will say things that Californians agree with (i.e. the right to get the waiver to enfornce tougher GHG standards).

When he was campaigning in MI, it was all about sucking up to the auto workers.

Romney is like the weather in New England: if you don't like his views, just wait a minute, he'll change!

By the way, as someone who respects Ron Paul, I must admit I have no idea what he's talking about with the "GHGs are property rights". Feel free to educate me. As much as I like his candor about getting out of Iraq, he's awfully opaque on this one.
