I think the point of the article was all the violations that his company had.  You don't appoint a repeat crimimal to head the bureau of prisons.

...he won't be there very long.  I believe (and please correct me if I'm wrong), that his term is essentially up when the president's is.  So hopefully he won't do too much damage between now and 2009.

Just outta curiosity, does anyone know what happened to the guy he replaced?  Why did he stop this close to end of his administration?
