Wow...a green energy project that would benefit millions -- now if you could only get Ted Kennedy to stop stalling the project because those windmills might affect the view from his summer home....

And don't forget Warner

I don't mind Kennedy taking his deserved hit for this, but just remember that it it also be stalled by Republicans from coal country who also have compounds in the same area whose view would be spoiled. Playing games with energy policy based on corrupt interests and personal prejudices is a joint Democratic-Republican foul up. Not an equal one: the Republicans have played a worse role than the Democrats, but filled with wrong turns and dishonesty by both parties.

Update: further delays
from the Boston Globe: "The plan to build a wind farm off the Cape and Islands encountered yet another delay Thursday night when the federal agency reviewing it announced it will not release a draft report of its findings this month, as planned....The Minerals Management Service now plans to take a stand on the project in late summer, a spokeswoman for the agency said."

This puts off public hearings on the project to the fall and will probably delay the release of the Marine Mineral Svc's final report until summer 2008.

So the state agencies have thrown their support hehind it, but Washington's process is now, again, the question mark.
