The "clean coal" bastards put up an ad on a political site showing Obama with a mic in his hands with a caption "We put a man on the moon" that then turned into "We can do this" which then turned into "We WILL do this" and then showed the logo "Clean Coal" and "America's Energy" or some such bullshit.

First, isn't there a law against appropriating the image of the president to use in advertising?

Second, barf.

His story about the Katrina boaters reminds me of Sarah Palin's story about selling the state plane on E-Bay.  Did that really go down the way he said it did?  Who was this mystery bureaucrat?  He wouldn't be exaggerating for effect, now would he?

I am so embarrassed to be a Louisianaian. I don't know this for a fact, (but Gov. Jindal is not apparently too conversant with facts) but I  don't remember that there were any "bureaucrats" around  the first several days following Katrina. There were many courageous volunteers doing what needed to be done, regardless. If there had not been, the number of those who died would have been greater.  I'm not sure what his point was, and, since Sheriff Harry Lee (a truly good man who would have defied bureaucrats if necessary) is dead we can't ask his version of this story. BTW, i really don't remember seeing then Cong. Jindal around during the early aftermath. Sen Mary Landrineau (D), yes, Jindal not so much.

Maybe I'm just oversensitized by the chimp cartoon, but I think the title of this post fixates on Jindal's Indian background in kind of a weird way and as such isn't appropriate. (Origin of the gin and tonic: a way for the British colonialists to drink quinine to prevent malaria in India).
