Excellent article. It is important for people to remember that although money and employment are necessary, they are temporary. The health effects of pollution on our land, water, environment, and ourselves is permanent. Please sign this petition right away. Tell the world that the quick fix and reward of today is not worth the permanent damage done to our tomorrow.Â

I agree - great article Nick! I just wanted to let your readers know that the petition close date has been extended to August 15, 2009. Even IF the Montrose County Planning Commission approves the Special Use Permit tonight at the hearing in Montrose, it will still have to go before the Montrose County Commissioners for approval. Plus, the Colorado Department of Publice Health & Environment won't be issuing their permit until this next winter, at the earliest - so we want them to see just how many people don't want uranium mining back in the west. Thanks for writing such a great article!
