Seriously, I made the cherry-peach cobbler (forgot to add the cardamom/cinnamon), and it turned out AMAZING. My CSA delivered tons of peaches and Rainier cherries this week, so I figured this had to be culinary destiny. And it was.
Check out the gorgeous colors the fruits made half-way through the prep: http://twitpic.com/9v21p

Be still, my beating cobblery heart!! I think I have a serious crush on your Sour Cherry and Peach Cobbler recipe...it sounds positively divine, thanks for the wonderful desserty inspiration. Before I launch into a chocoholic defense, I wish that I was on the pulse of these secret brambleberry deposits that you refer to. I live up in the mountains of Colorado, so you'd THINK that they'd exist there, but to date, I've never seen them. We've had copious amounts of rainfall this year (which is unheard of in these parts), so why aren't lush berries springing forth everywhere I look?
In any event, as a bona fide lover of all things sweet, I find that chocolate is as treasured to me as fruity crispy "anything"...but I kind of know what you mean. It would be nice is people would embrace the seasonal goodness around them instead of relying on the old brownie standbys. I've been looking for a kick-ass recipe to enter into http://www.greenwala.com's contest (they're an online green social network) because I'm desperate to win their $250 Whole Foods gift card prize....that could buy me a humdingerhttp://www.greenwala.com/greenwala_contests supply of organic sour cherries! So, what if I were to tweak yours and "pretend" that it came from my own brilliant mind? Naaah, I'm too ethical for that. Either way, I will definitely make your inspired recipe this weekend -- I can't wait!! Oh, if anyone here wants to try to enter Greenwala's recipe contest, here's the link: http://www.greenwala.com/greenwala_contests
<!--Session data-->
<!--Session data-->
