Can you just imagine what Upton Sinclair would say right now! I guess we need to have him be reincarnated to write, The Jungle Part 2, Idiocy in Action.

Informative article! I'm really tired hearing about food recalls again and again- it's so frustrating! You would think that we, as a nation, would learn from our mistakes, but, I guess, we have a hard time doing something different (as evident by the recent recall of Nestle cookie dough, the recall of dairy products possibly tainted with salmonella, and now this massive beef recall). It's sad to know that the number one concern for companies is profit, not customers; however, without customer satisfaction, company longevity is diminished. Wouldn't it be nice if companies focused on the customers for a change and thoroughly inspected their products before being released in the market?

Yeah, I was once a quality control inspector for a meat packing plant. You're okay most of the time, but when you hold up the line for a quality control violation - you are the enemy, not a team player, subject to being fired if you don't pass the tainted item... FDA inspectors are NOT at every plant.. the plants are on their "honor" sure... WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!
