Frosty the No Man

Washington school board puts a moratorium on An Inconvenient Truth

First sex, now science? What will they tell the kids about next? The parents of a high-schooler in Federal Way, Wash., have complained to the district's school board about a teacher's plan to screen Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, and the board has put a moratorium on the film. "Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore," said irked father Frosty Hardison. "The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD." While the moratorium allows teachers to show the film if they present an opposing view, co-producer Laurie David expressed frustration with the first-in-the-nation Truth scuffle: "There is no opposing view to science ... and the facts are clear that global warming is here, now." What do the students think? "I think that a movie like that is a really great way to open people's eyes up about what you can do and what you are doing to the planet and how that's going to affect the human race," said one. From the mouths of babes, yo.

Frosty the No Man

Please tell 'irked father Frosty Hardison', that the 'the world burning up in end times' is part of the scientific story. At some point, our sun will explode, before that an approaching galaxy will collide with our Milky Way and we either burn up or see a spectacular light show! Of course, this is billions of years in the future and the subject of Al Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth'is the subject of our modern problems and what we need to do, so that we can last until the 'end time'.  I find it quite unbellievable that the Federal Way, Washington school board could behave so irresponsibly.

If you believe in God, ...........................

If you believe in God, you know he gave us brains. If you do not believe in God.......you still have brains !!!

That father should get his head out of the clouds and realize that by caring for our "god created home"is not a wrong thing to do. If he thinks the end is nigh he should get ready for it personaly........but this is America and it is not his right to run his 'religious ideas' onto others especially in school.

Shame on that school board !! I hope the voters remember this when elections come about.

I do not understand how parents can want to raise undereducated children to suit their ideology.

The apostles thought Jesus was comming back and the end was nigh 2000 years ago........He hasn't come back in the flesh yet.

It is our duty to make ethical choices  that keep this Earth healthy so that our children and future generations have a chance to live a decent life.

If the earth ends or burns up from  cosmic or Godly power  oh well.........

We should always do our best and not deprive others from the freedom of intellegent thought.
