Out With the Red Pen, in With the Green

House passes bill to green up schools

Posted at 4:47 PM on 05 Jun 2008

Teaching recycling.
The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would put more than $20 billion over the next five years toward improving energy efficiency in schools. Democrats say the modestly named 21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities Act would save school districts billions in energy costs. In addition, said Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller (D-Calif.), it will "make the facilities safer, cleaner, and better for the learning environment these children need." The White House has threatened to veto over what it sees as "an inappropriate and costly new federal role in modernizing and renovating public schools."

Red & Green

Another California Congressman with a new idea.
A Democrat with an big idea to insert the FEDERAL Government into the schools.
Can't Congress do anything right?
A safer, cleaner, better learning environment for our Kids

Or should I say The Kiddies.
Dont you think they know better than that.
We need real hope not a little bit of help.
They'll need schools not just clean ones.

Of course!

Totally inappropiate. Completely out of line.

OH, noooooo...

...not the EVIL federal guvmint. Save some school districts from descending into insolvency from higher energy costs: oh, that won't do, that won't do at all. The Market will save Us, the Market WILL save Us! (repeat until delusional)

The mellotron is your friend.
Let me guess...

A Democrat with an big idea to insert the FEDERAL Government into the schools.
