Who Ya Calling Corny?

Time hearts Grist, Grist hearts flattery

Posted at 4:59 PM on 22 Apr 2008

In tandem with its green issue, Time magazine has made a list of its fave green websites. And my, my, who is that at the top? "Grist is the Colbert Report of climate change, the Daily Show of deforestation, the Oprah of oil dependency -- except with real reporting and analytical journalism," says Time. "The e-zine delivers news and news-you-can-use on pivotal topics -- with punny, sometimes corny headlines." Oh stop, we're blushing.

Don't Blush. . .

Grist earned and very much deserves the praise. I'm a huge fan. Grist has become part of my daily routine -- it's my first morning stop on the internet. I especially enjoy Umbra's advice and Tom Philpott's columns.  Inspired by Tom I've paid attention to the Farm Bill -- made phone calls and written letters to my representatives and senators. . .
And I'm so glad to see Anna Lappe contributing -- her mother is one of my "heroes".

Grist appeals to a broad spectrum of readers -- aging hippies to youngsters and bunches in between.  Good job.  Keep it up.  You're making a difference.

kudos

I know there's lots more room on this green bandwagon we're on (hybrid, of course) and making more people aware you're here is a very good thing!!
