British prime minister chats climate with Bush

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was in Washington, D.C., Thursday to sit down for a chit-chat with President Bush. Brown told press that he and Bush "agreed we must work internationally to secure progress at the G8 and toward a post-Kyoto deal on climate change. ... I look forward to continuing to work with President Bush and his administration in taking it forward." (Taking what forward remains to be seen, as Bush's recent climate speech had no specifics.) Brown also mentioned Britain's hesitation to go forward full force with biofuels, noting, "We've got to get it absolutely right that we're dealing with the environmental issue as well as dealing with the problem of increased production of food." The prime minister also met with Bush's three viable successors (in alphabetical order by first name, so as not to show bias) and says he is "absolutely confident that through working with any of them we could rise to the great challenges of the future."

Please don't expect to make any sense out of our wishy-washy, smarmy, spin-obsessed moron of a Prime Minister. He will say anything to anyone of he thinks it will help him.

May I apologise on behalf of the British people for inflicting this man on America. :-)

You have to understand...

... mistakes have been made; but we are listening, and further talks will be held with a view to, well, having a view on more talks. The crucial thing is we must understand the issues better, and what people are telling us is that they need to feel part of the process. And it is important that we look forward and not backwards to meet the obvious challenges of the future. Blah, blah, blah, blah...

Hey, it's democracy. You get what you vote for. Don't you?

oh yes, 10 Downing St.

(And do they ever complain, about the noise, etc., at 8 Downing Street and 12 Downing Street ? ... )

We happen to have just finished, for our dinner-time viewing, the wonderful series, starring the late Ian Richardson, "House of Cards"; and now, we are in the middle of the sequel, "To Play the King."

As unbelievable as the situation is in the latter series, Michael Kitchen as the King, i.e. Prince Charles, has magnificently believable lines.

God Save the Queen indeed. But God Save the Prince of Wales's sanity too.

The hunky sons will have no problem fending for themselves, apparently. The younger tends to catch my eye more than the older, FYI.

But anyway, back to Government: No, that was not a very happy photo of GorBro, was it. Hair-wise, that is the way I generally look, so I do not wish to criticize a jot ...

Chickens deserve our true friendship! So do fish! So do other sentient beings! Let us learn to be kind.

Oh No

No no no Blueplanet!It is we(americans) who should be apologizing for inflicting bush on the whole planet.
These are politicians and it has to be known that they are all liars.It is a given and part of being a politician.
You got rid of Tony Blair.Australia got rid of John Howard and we ,by default,are getting rid of bush.If we are really not paying attention we will get the bush clone,John McCain.You know what they say,you get what you pay for.Oh wait.No I am right.You get what you pay for,so says Big Business.
