Church of England urges carbon fast for Lent

Planning to give up alcohol or chocolate for 40 days when the season of Lent begins tomorrow? Two Church of England bishops are urging churchgoers to instead take part in a carbon fast.

"pro-life"

It is mightily discouraging that those Christians who profess a "pro-life" ethic have regard solely for human life -- and many critics would add, for human life as found exclusively between conception and birth.

Anyway, you can be as grossly anthropocentric as any run-of-the-mill creationist and still think that mitigation of the climate crisis makes sense.

Chickens deserve our true friendship! So do fish! So do other sentient beings! Let us learn to be kind.
