Building Anticipation

Portland, Ore., green-building plan will be delayed

Portland, Ore., proposed an ambitious green-building plan last month that was to go before voters in January. But the building and real-estate industries were taken aback by the announcement and have expressed concerns; City Commissioner Dan Saltzman now hopes to have a draft before the city council in three to six months.

Every Home Should Provide Its Own Power

There's absolutely no excuse for allowing homes to be built without solar collectors on their roofs and wind generators in their yards.  If people are going to consume electricity, they should at least be required to provide as much of their own as possible, and in as environmentally friendly of a manner as possible.

with the downturn in the economy, our opposition will say that the economy cannot afford reform of any type. wars & recessions are very, very good for them.
