Yeah, they do burn grass and coal
At least in Iowa's Chariton plant they burn grass. The orignal article garbled up the terminology a bit, though. It's a co-fired (meaning coal and switchgrass together) furnace.
Instead of relying on common sense and ridicule, I suggest trying a little research first. Here's a good place to start:
